Louise Jensen is a USA Today bestselling author of psychological thrillers. Her first two novels, The Sister and The Gift, were both international #1 bestsellers, and have been sold for translation to sixteen countries.

Her debut novel, The Sister, was nominated for The Goodreads Awards Debut of Louise lives in Northamptonshire with her /5(7). Louise Jensen is becoming one of my favourite authors book by book. I've only read Louise's most recent book The Surrogate not long ago and I loved it so much I decided I need to go back to her previously published titles.

I picked The Sister as it was mentioned so much and so highly recommended I /5(K). The Sister is Louise Jensen's debut novel, and she's off to a strong start. She has written a dark tale of betrayal, paranoia and plenty of twists.

The story goes thus: Grace, the main character, is struggling after the death of Charlie, her best friend from childhood. She digs up an old letter that they buried together. The Sister is the debut novel from Louise Jensen, and oh my golly gosh it’s a hell of a debut, billed as a psychological thriller it certainly lived up to expectations.

In my opinion the emotional and mental developments of characters in a psychological thriller must be both plausible and believable, and the author manages this with aplomb. It is not until very much later in the book that we learn what has happened to Charlie, and I enjoyed the slow unravelling of the mystery.

However, the downside of this format is that the “Then” chapters can dilute the tension building in the “Now” sections and slow down the action, which was a bit of an issue here, as there was a lot.

The Sister I could hardly believe this was Louise Jensen's first novel when I read it at the end as it read like a seasoned writer had written it. The story evolves around Grace and Charlie who are childhood friends.4/4(). In this literary masterwork, Louise Erdrich, the bestselling author of the National Book Award-winning The Round House and the Pulitzer Prize nominee The Plague of Doves wields her breathtaking narrative magic in an emotionally haunting contemporary tale of a tragic accident, a demand for justice, and a profound act of atonement with ancient roots in Native American : HarperCollins Publishers.

Sister Louise () Louise De La Valliere was a woman of French nobility that is celebrated for her intimate relations with Louis XIV.

She was born in Tours in August, and died in Paris, June 6, Her mother and father were of the French aristocracy. The Sister turned into a good read though it took some stick-with-it-ness for the first several chapters.

It is the first book by Louise Jensen that I have read; she is a nice writer and based on The Sister, I would read more books written by her/5(K).
